Dr. Perren Cobb

Dr. J. Perren Cobb is a distinguished medical professional with over 30 years of experience in surgical critical care. Currently, he is the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Keck Medicine of USC and a Professor at the Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Cobb's research has significantly advanced the treatment of sepsis and emergency preparedness. He was instrumental in developing the riboleukogram, a sepsis diagnostic tool. Dr. Cobb also founded the U.S. Critical Illness and Injury Trials Group, now the Discovery Clinical Research Network. He holds a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MD from the University of Louisville, with fellowships from NIH and the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Cobb’s work is supported by numerous prestigious organizations, including NIH, FDA, and CDC. His leadership and innovations have earned him several accolades, such as the Research Scholarship Award from the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
